You're Not Depressed Unless You're Experiencing These (Minor Depression)

So you think you're depressed? You think you're just so sad that you can't not be sad? Well, let's take a trip down facts about minor depression lane.

Basically, every teenager has had atleast one depressing episode in their lives. We filled this generation with depressing things and situations. From relationships to social media, to hurting of nature and rescuing of suffering animals. From getting that newest gadget to paying for that exam before the deadline. From getting all the trendiest outfits to wanting to dress comfortably and still fit in. From holding up a friendship to discarding a useless friendship. These have exhausted nearly all of us and led us into the ever welcoming hands of depression.

Icons like Billie Eilish, Juice WRLD and xxtenaction have made it easy for us to just open our mouths and say

I'm depressed

Some teenagers, including our parents, believe that these artistes are unnecessary, but the fact is that they shed light on the concept of depression. Tate McRae's ' Dear Parents' and Euphoria's S01E07 said it all. But in case you don't know any of these, here are some of my confirmed theories on depression.

YOU'RE HIGHLY IRRITABLE

One sign that you have depression is that you become easily irritable. The smallest things make you angry or cry unnecessarily. You just find excuses to scream at everything. I say an undepressed person wouldn't do that.

YOU ONLY REMEMBER THE SAD MEMORIES

Because of the state your mind is in, your head would automatically block the good memories, so you'd remain in your sad state and eventually go deeper into depression. In a short space of time, you'd be wallowing in deep depression and not even a single memory would save you.

YOU'VE LOST INTEREST IN EVERYTHING

The things you enjoy doing has become a heavy burden to you because they now seem so boring that you ask yourself how you used to enjoyed them.

YOU'VE SHUT EVERYONE OUT

You just don't want to talk. Conversations are unnecessary to you, and you'd rather lock yourself up in your bedroom all day and wear that oversized hoodie outdoors.

YOUR SLEEPING PATTERN HAS CHANGED

In most cases, depressed teens sleep a lot more than they normally would.

DIFFICULTTY IN CONCENTRATING

Concentrating has become such an impossible task for you and this could or is already affecting your grades negatively.

YOU FEEL USELESS AND UNWANTED

YOU RESULT TO TAKING HARD DRUGS

Teenagers tend to feel like an escape from all their problems is the euphoria that hits them right after the intake of hard drugs like molly and the likes. Meanwhile, it just promotes the empire of depression.

CHANGE IN EATING HABITS

EXCESSIVE BODYACHES, HEADACHES AND STOMACH PROBLEMS

YOU EITHER HAVE NO MORE TEARS LEFT TO CRY OR YOU CRY A RIVER OFTEN

YOU'RE HAVING SUICIDE THOUGHTS

This is the hardest part of it all. When you just feel you could just kill yourself and end everything. If you're having suicide thoughts, please seek help immediately. Suicide is never the right option.

If you are experiencing more than a half of these symptoms, I suggest you reach out for the help of a therapist, your parents or a friend.

Nice one dear
Well I have had suicidal thoughts too and I almost did it
I'm glad you mentioned your experience. Please understand that there must surely be people who care about you and they would be very sad to hear that you died by suicide. Remember to let your hopes, and not your hurts, shape your future.
